		<description>I am interested in the possible violation by Microsoft of the trade mark &#039;BING&#039;. Contrary to your details above, that trade-name has been protected in the UK since before 1939 and was owned by a company that traded under that name until well after the second word war selling non-alcoholic drinks. Subsequently, the company was bought by Corona, another drinks company, although I do not know when for sure, probably in the mid 60&#039;s or 70&#039;s. For some time that name continued to be used by that company although it probably ceased to do so sometime later. I do not know whether or not the use of the trademark in the UK precludes its use in the USA.
Maybe, Microsofrt obtained clearance for the use of the trademark, although I rather doubt it.
